“Ahh… well I am no librarian. However… I guess I can recommend a few” His eyes wander across the section in deep thought as he tucks his own books between his arm and waist. A small pout of his lips and a tap of a finger against his chin, he recalls a few familiar mystery novels he had read during his free time that he found pretty interesting.
“I highly recommend any of Stephen King’s novels, the Sherlock Holmes series. You know, the pretty known classics. A more modern one I have been digging is The Investigation by Jung-Myung Lee, though it’s a little bit more historical” He nudges the more modern book, he had mentioned, out of its original position, and hands the book to the young lady. A shy smile plastered across his face “Honestly, I’m pretty into mystery novels. Hopefully you will enjoy this one even though it’s sort of historical.”
Yuzuru blankly stares at him and at the building they were about to enter, switching between the two, confused. “I’m not sure if you know, but this building has been empty for decades” He explains with a sense of straightforwardness.
“I think… anyone is free to go in and out of the building. I think someone might have… sent you… a prank perhaps?” Swiping out his business card, he offers it to the other “I’m from the spirit consultation office and I have been informed by a client to exorcise a ghost residing in this building”
“I mean… you are free to join me, but I can’t guarantee your safety” Not that Yuzuru was attempting to threaten the other, but he simply stated facts and honestly it was a rare occurrence that an extremely strong ghost would appear. However, you can never know for sure with these things. Additionally, Yuzuru was sensing quite a strong aura from the building, a bad one.
“Ah.. I don’t mean that I don’t want to but I’m not very good at posing in front of the camera” He chuckles slightly. He’s used to the media constantly snapping their way during his practices, but at times he still feels slightly camera shy.
Additionally, a regular Yuzuru who isn’t on the ice, in all honestly, isn’t as charming or interesting in fact. At least, that’s what he thinks. “I mean I don’t mind letting you snap away, but I’m not sure what you want me to do to help you with your photoshoot?”
“Obviously…. not a no?” He contradicts the other’s words with a small tease in his tone. “Last time we met up you said you were working on a project? Is it because of the project that you look kind of… dead?” They were the same age, but Ren always looked far more stressed than Yuzuru ever was. In the end, Yuzuru never knew about the specifics of the project so he just never probed at it, even if he was curious about what kind of project it was and whether he could be of help.
“Do you want me to walk you back home today? I’m worried the wind is going to just knock you over” He winces as a strong breeze pushes against them as they walked along an uphill street.
He stares at the other, slightly taken by surprise, considering how strong the other seemed, but gives off a small laugh “I guess you can’t judge a person by looks huh”
“But I wouldn’t judge someone who has asked for help, here, let me help you!” With a small grin, he shifts over closer to the other. He sincerely meant what he had said, he believes it is better than those who hid their pain and difficulties, such as someone like himself. Taking the can from the other, he easily wedges his finger between the bend and with a small nudge, a crisp crack resounds loudly within the empty, and dim-lit room. “Here you go” he returns the opened can to the other.

“Perhaps not in ‘ghosts’–” Emphasis is put on the last word, only for it to end up sounding as doubtful as Taehwa himself. “But I believe in somethin’ that fits the description of ghosts, most of the time.” The only way in which he could explain it, and even then he ended up feeling a tad childish. Yet, he found this way less childish than the way movies often would portray the phenomenon. Perhaps that was the one downside with being a horror-movie fan; finding it far too dramatic, but admittedly, he took comfort in it not being too much like reality.
In the end, there was something far more uncomfortable in the feeling of being watched, followed, or specific sounds as if not welcome when alone in generally harmless places during the brightest days. Bad vibes, some would say. Taehwa thought it was more than that. “There’s even enough evidence from science that there’s–.. something and I think every person has experienced a handful of things that can’t logically be explained unless thinking that ghosts could exist.. you know?”
“Ah.. I guess half the truth is still the truth huh” He chimes in, understanding where the other was coming from. In fact, he believes that only knowing the half truth is good enough, since at times, ignorance is bliss. The other is quite close to the truth itself already, and Yuzuru honestly wouldn’t wish for others to have seen the things he could see. The only difference was that Yuzuru could sense these things better than others, or what others would call sixth sense. Instead of being completely clueless, at least the other could had some level of doubt. Although it did feel lonely at times that Yuzuru was the only one who knew, it was kind of like having a secret playground of his own.
“Well, the truth is, a majority of people don’t even bother to believe that ghosts exist. You know” He mentions with a slight sadness in his tone. Shifting his hips to pull out a wallet from his back-pocket, he sniffs out a card. Resting his head against his palm, he smiles at the other while handing the business card to the other “Well, If you have any unresolvable mysteries or you feel like something odd is happening, feel free to visit the spirit consultation office i’m working at! We specialize in those kinds of things”
It wasn’t a secret that he worked there, but for others it might seem kind of shady at first glance.
